The physical structure and layout of the building makes the premises unsuitable for people with a serious mobility impairment.
It is possible to accommodate guests with a hearing or visual impairment if they are accompanied so as to ensure their safety.

The nearest bus stop is an approximate 3 minute walk away.
Trams go right along the Promenade from Starr Gate to Fleetwood. The nearest tram stop is a 1 minute walk away.
The nearest major train station is Blackpool North, which is either a 10 minute car or taxi journey away or an approximate 20 minute walk.
Blackpool International Airport is a 20 minute car or taxi distance away.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
If arriving by car, you may park for free and without any restrictions on the road outside the Ellan Vannin, or on most of the surrounding roads.
Assistance with luggage is available.

Main Entrance & Reception
Access to the standard single-width front entrance door,
If required, writing material will be provided on arrival.
The entrance hall is on the level and has a short-pile fitted carpet.
An escorted familiarization tour of the ground-floor public areas is given to all guests.
Telephone contact is available during the hours of 7.00am to 24.00pm. All prices are available at reception. A large print version is available on request.
Doors to the bar and dining room all lead off the hall.
Public Areas - General (Internal)
The building has 3 floors, ie ground, 1st and 2nd. Except for bedrooms, all public areas are on the ground floor.
Corridors, stairs, bedrooms and public areas are well lit and have a fitted short-pile carpet.
The stairs from ground floor to 1st floor are of normal dimensions. The stairs from 1st floor to 2nd floor are normal dimensions.
Public Areas - WC
Dining Room, Bar & Lounges
All meals are served in the dining room on the ground floor.
Dining room furniture can be moved on request.
Chairs are all without arms.
Menus can, if required, be provided in large print.
Special diets, ie vegetarian, are not catered for. Anyone with a life-threatening allergy, ie peanut, shellfish, cannot be catered for.
Background music to both the dining room and the lounge bar is provided via a computer .
The lounge bar doesn’t have set hours, but is generally open 14.00 pm and is closed at about 24.00pm.
The bar lounge which has large windows overlooking the front is open to residents from 7.00 am and closes at 24.00 pm. It has soft seating and leather chairs with small round tables.
There are 7 bedrooms in total.
All bedrooms are fitted with a short-pile carpet.
All bedrooms are en-suite.
There are 2 bedrooms on the 1st floor. They comprise of: 1 Large room (1 double bed and 1 single bed), 1 double room (1 double bed in each)
There are 5 bedrooms on the 2nd floor. They comprise of: 1 twin room (2 single beds) and 4 double rooms (1 double bed in each).
All double beds are accessible from either side.
Furniture in the bedrooms is not movable.
Each bedroom has a colour TV with remote control.
All beds are divan beds.
Each room has a basic electric kettle.
All bedrooms have a standard fire door and smoke detectors.
Bathroom, Shower-room & WC [En-suite or Shared]
All bedrooms have en-suite facilities containing a step in shower with small step, a toilet and a wash basin.
All en-suites have vinyl flooring.
Grounds and Gardens
There is a small, level terrace at the front of the property, which is lined with large pots containing plants, flowers and a brick built garden.
The terrace flooring is stone tiles. A wooden benches and stone bench provides a seating area.
Smoking is permitted outside on the terrace. A wall-mounted ash bin is provided for the safe disposal of cigarette butts.
The Ellan Vannin is open all year with the exception of Christmas.
Smoking is not permitted in any part of the building.
A fire alarm L2 is fitted which rings very loudly on all levels.
Front and back doors can be used for evacuation.
Emergency lighting is fitted ground and 1st and 2nd floor landings.
With the exception of guide dogs, Pets can be accommodated.
There is a foam filled fire extinguisher on all floors.
There is generally a good reception for mobile phones from all areas.
Medications can be stored in the bedroom fridge.
All rooms are provided with a Welcome Folder. Amongst other useful information, this contains telephone numbers for emergency medical and dental services. It also contains both the main phone number and the owners mobile number for use in cases of emergency.
The Ellan Vannin is situated just 1 road back from the Promenade.

All accommodation is subject to availability at the time of receipt of deposit, and at the tariffs applicable rate according to the season.
The person (referred to as the Lead Customer) whose signature appears on the booking form or who has made the booking via telephone or internet is the person who has entered into the Contract with the Ellan Vannin & it’s Proprietor.
A minimum deposit of £20 per person of the total booking charge is required in advance. Please note there is a no charge per credit/debit card transaction.
No allowance can be made for meals not taken. Rooms will be ready for occupancy from 2.00pm and must be vacated by 10.00am on day of departure. Failure to vacate room by 10.00am will incur a £10 an hour charge. The proprietors cannot be responsible for loss of guest's property.
The proprietor reserves the right to amend, curtail or terminate any contract should the conduct of any person who is a part of the contract cause any detriment to the well being or the comfort of the guests and/or staff, or who causes damage to the hotel and its fixture and fittings. Any damage or costs that occur because of such behaviour will be recovered from the Lead Customer, who agrees that such payments may be taken direct from the credit / debit card if supplied to pay the deposit, without any further permission being required this includes any legal expense incurred by the proprietors as a result of guest actions. Damage to key/s or key/s broken in door lock will incur a charge of £20 for replacement key and £30 for locksmith call out charge.
All bedrooms and their en-suites are non-smoking areas; additional charges for cleaning and damages, at the discretion of the proprietors, will be recovered from the Lead Customer, who agrees that such payments may be taken direct from the credit / debit card if supplied to pay the deposit, without any further permission being required.
Deposits are not refundable, the Lead Customer will be liable to pay the total cost as per the reservation and furthermore agrees that such payments may be taken direct from the credit / debit card if supplied to pay the deposit, without any further permission required.
Lost keys are charged at £20.00 per set which, the Lead Customer agrees that such payments may be taken direct from the credit / debit card if supplied to pay the deposit, without any further permission being required.
Accounts must be paid on arrival by cash or credit card. We accept Visa, Master Card or Switch. Payments of accounts made by cheque will only be accepted 10 Days prior to arrival.
If paying by electron/switch no refund will ever be refunded .
Children under 10 years of age we be refused in to the guest house unless prior arrangement has been made with the owner .proof of arrangement will be asked for.
We do not take hen or stag parties or all male or female groups if on arrival you are one of the named you will be refused entry and will lose all deposits and will pay in full from your credit card, The Lead Customer, who agrees that such payments may be taken direct from the credit / debit card if supplied to pay the deposit, without any further permission being required this includes any legal expense incurred by the proprietors as a result of guest actions.
Booking more than 2 people in a double room will result in refused entry for all people on that booking and full payment will be taken.
Booking more than 3 people into Room 3 Family Room/Large Room will result in refused entry to all people on that booking and full payment will be taken.
